What is it?
In nature, certain rocks slowly react with atmospheric CO₂ and rain over thousands of years, locking carbon into stable minerals. This is a process called weathering. Enhanced Rock Weathering speeds this up by crushing these rocks into fine powder and spreading them on agricultural land, dramatically increasing the surface area available for the reaction.
As a bonus, the minerals released can also act as a natural fertilizer, improving soil health and crop yields. Since the resulting carbon is locked into stable minerals, this approach is considered highly permanent and difficult to reverse.

What does Deduci think?
Enhanced rock weathering has been growing in popularity over the past few years as a high quality, cost-competitive carbon removal option. Its added co-benefits on soil health and crop yields make it a favorable choice for buyers looking for benefits beyond carbon.
