Overview
Plastic credits fund both the collection and proper disposal of plastic to prevent it from leaking into the environment and recycling plastic into a feedstock that can displace the use of virgin plastic. Similar to carbon credits, a plastic credit represents one metric ton of plastic waste either collected or recycled.
While plastic credits are a relatively new type of market-based environmental certificate, they have grown in popularity as companies use them to complement their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) strategies.

Investing in plastic credits can create meaningful change by supporting crucial plastic collection and recycling programs. These programs are highly measurable and supports a holistic sustainability strategy that expands beyond carbon and energy.
